its not like the minor runes are so incredibly expensive :S only main loss there is the Maj Vigor, which is only like 3-5k. Still, thats wierd, usually its only the headpiece that doesnt give me the rune when I salvage.
Ugh.....I hate this, i cannot see half of the newly uploaded screenshots, in Opera or IE......this is really annoying.(I think its a bug on AMP, as I get the same results with fresh installs and everything) Not to mention the other half of the new screenshots show up fine.
were you using an expert salvage kit? a superior will never give you the runes and a normal is like 50/50
superior salvage kit has the same odds as a expert salvage kit has of salvaging runes, mods etc.., just more per kit
from wiki:
QUOTE
The Expert Salvage Kit will salvage common crafting materials or a chance at rare crafting materials along with a chance at salvaging a weapon upgrade from a weapon or a rune applied to a players armor. A rune on a dropped salvage item will always provide the rune when salvaged.
The Superior Salvage Kit functions the same as the Expert Salvage Kit, but has more uses. The only real benefit is to save on inventory space, and trips to merchants.
and is this a old screenshot, cos i thought runes had a 100% chance of being salvaged after an update awhile ago
I really think that buying nightfall just so you can choose what you get from a salvaged item is worth it. I had a sword with 20% longer enchants and got 3 steel ingots from it. :|
I've had this happen on an axe with a +30HP mod back when they went for 60-80K(close to just after the AoE update). I was freakin out about finding it, than I just got some Iron from it :/
And yes, I dont think its 100% to get runes, pretty sure this can happen though I havnt salvaged for runes recently.
No, there was definitely not an update making runes from armor guaranteed. Just last weekend I decided to switch to different armor for 55ing so I could do a 55/SB monk for green farming. I already had five superior monk runes, and only got 1 out of five salvages. So I had to buy all new runes, which sucked. Thankfully, I had bought them when they were cheap the first time, around 2k each.
And the point of the thread was not that I lost lots of money - perhaps 5/6k in total, more about the fact that it happened 4 times in a row, when I've never really had this happen before.
