nice idea.
just so i know whats happening:
the picture is about a piece of a building,not the whole thing?
all the building is taken is disqualified?
but what about if you take a pice of the building and in the background is a lake or a nice pic of a bilding by mistake? only judged on the detiled piece yeah?

Yes; it is more a scenery shot then and due to the large zoom the detail of the structure is lost.

Lol; that can actually give a very nice composition; the building detail and some background. As long as it is clear what the subject on the picture is; some environmental things can be an asset to the whole :)

I just got started with the game so I'll see what I can find...
But I got a suggestion for another contest: Fan Art! As long as it isn't smut or someone else's work... I think that it would be very awesome.
