AMP Agreement
First off its important to recognise what a guild is, here’s one of the definitions from Dictionary.com:
An association of persons of the same trade or pursuits, formed to protect mutual interests and maintain standards.
Applied to the Gameamp Guides: our shared pursuit is the enjoyment of the game, our mutual interest is to help each other and the standard is set out in this agreement.
"Gameamp Guides was founded on the idea of extending the Gameamp community and its helpfulness into the game itself. ….. Our goals are to have fun and help people…."
The Rules
Communication and Helpfulness
With a large guild like ours if you login and nobody acknowledges you it quickly leads to a sense of unfriendliness, that is not the impression AMP members should be giving each other.
- When logging in be sure to say Hi and say Hi to people who log in
- When you leave say Goodbye and say Goodbye to people who leave
If someone asks a question, no matter how noob it seems or obvious we need to acknowledge it, if you don’t know then you need to say so too. Either respond with the answer or acknowledge you don’t know.
When players ask for help with missions, quests or PvP activities you
MUST respond in a timely fashion, if your busy say so, if your unable to help because you don’t have that quest, outpost, mission yet you must say so. You
MUST offer help whenever you can and it is expected that your offers of help and involvement with guild members are frequent.. Failure to respond in a timely fashion will result in action being taken.
- Officers will note failures to respond
- Three consecutive failures to respond will result in a warning
- Failure to respond after 2 warnings will mean a permanent removal from the guild
It is only OK to fail to respond if your status is set to away, if you are currently involved in a difficult mission, quest or PvP activity and you feel you won’t be able to communicate in a timely manner you must ensure your status is set to ‘away’, failure to respond without your status as set to away will count towards a warning. Note: farming and other ‘selfish’ activities do not warrant an ‘away’ status or an excuse not to respond.
Players who are found to set their status to away too often and officers feel this is unjustified will receive 1 warning, no other warning will be given and if you continue to remain anti-social you will be kicked from the guild so that new social members can take your place. In most missions and quests you will still have the time within a reasonable time frame to respond with a ‘sorry busy’ in chat, there are very few quests and missions that allow no sufficient break in aggro and justifies the ‘away’ status.
The Guild does recognise and appreciate that real life can sometimes lead to absence without a chance to set yourself to away. We do not wish to target or penalise any members who have real life responsibilities which can lead to sudden unexpected absences without the opportunity to set themselves to away. Officers will discuss and reach realistic decisions where a member feels a warning was not warented.
Involvement in PvP activities
If you decide you wish to start or get involved in any kind of PvP activity make sure that you have enough time and that you will be able to attend when required. As our members span across timezones, your leisure time may be starting while others are due to finish. If your going to be late, be respectful and let people know, if your unable to attend after saying you could give as much notice as possible. Your fellow guild members shouldn't be left waiting around or a chance to get involved in GvG ruined because you weren't realistic about your availability.
Chat
Chat should give us the opportunity to get to know each other, pass on information and have fun. There are rules on how you behave in all chat outside of Whispers between friends and some instances of Team chat (Team chat is only excluded when you are confident of your team members expected levels of behaviour, for example when grouping with real life friends. Local chat is NEVER excluded from these rules, you are a representative of AMP and should behave accordingly).
- No swearing
- No topics of conversation of an overtly sexual nature
- No Flaming
- No spamming chat with selling, buying or other trade activities
- No begging
- No racism, sexism, homophobia or other bigoted behaviour, this includes using either gay or retard as forms of insult.
- If any alliance member finds the current topic of conversation offensive and requests it ceases, it must cease, we must respect each other at all times.
- Exclusive conversations between 2 people should be done in whisper at all times
- A-chat shouldn’t be flooded with so much random conversation that players are forced to turn it off. Respect it’s use.
- You are not to use any other language other than English in Guild and Alliance channel.
- No bragging - sharing your joy with a personal achievement is definately encouraged. Bragging about how you have done better or have more is belittling your fellow guild members joy and AMP members never belittle each other.
- No Spoilers, members don't want the storyline ruined, if you want to talk about the advanced storyline ask in chat who has reached that mission/quest and discuss it in whispers
These are simple rules and still allow us a lot of freedom to communicate, shoot the breeze, tell jokes and have fun, it just requires one simple guiding factor, respect for each other and our differences. All of these rules carry over in to behaviour outside of the guild, any inappropriate behaviour outside of the guild in local chat or team chat with PUGS will also lead to action.
- Players caught swearing or behaving inappropriately in chat will receive 1 warning
- Continued poor behaviour in chat will result in 1 weeks suspension from the guild and you will be required to provide the 100g joining fee to re-join
- One more instance of poor behaviour in chat after a suspension will result in a permanent kick from the guild
Remember: site behaviour impacts on your guild presence too, the same rules apply. Any member who is banned from the site automatically loses their place in the guild.
Abide by all rules set out by ArenaNet
This includes the use of any hacks, cheats, bots exploits macro's etc, buying gold from ebay or buying any other ingame service or item with real life money, all of which can be read about in the
ROC (Rules of Conduct) and
EULA (End User Liscence Agreement). Any instance of breaking the EULA or ROC will result in immediate permanent suspension from all alliance activities.
Inactivity
Any player who is absent from game activities for 2 weeks without notifying the guild via the forums will be kicked. If that member subsequently wishes to rejoin they will have to rejoin the waiting list.
Heroes and Hench
On NO occasion will an alliance member be denied the opportunity to join a group in favour of an NPC, no matter the level of the player verse the level of the Hero. Real players are always more important.
Forum activity
In order for the guild and alliance to function well and communicate effectively your forum presence is required. Members are expected to sign up to and be active in checking the guild and alliance forums. AMP is only ever as good as it’s members, without your input in these forums it will never become the guild you want it to be, get involved! There will be occasions when forum activity is mandatory, without knowledge of this you could lose your place in the guild, check the forums at least twice a week.
Your responsibility in upholding the agreement
As a guild member you are expected to abide by and uphold the AMP Agreement at all times, if you feel other members are behaving inappropriately please take the time to make a private report to an officer and provide screenshots when necessary. Never accuse a fellow member of poor behaviour in public, all information between a member and officer about suspected poor behaviour will be kept strictly private by BOTH parties.
Above all your responsibility is to have fun while being helpful and friendly within a warm, welcoming atmosphere of respect amongst players at all levels from all backgrounds, this can only happen with the will of it's members.
