How ever vast his army was, Adelbern knew his army could not beat the stone summit alone, he needed help, and the only other army that he may have a chance of persuading to fight with him was King Jalis Ironhammer - king of the Deldrimor Dwarfs.
The Stone Summit controlled all of the northern Shiverpeaks, and a large portion of the Southern Shiverpeaks as well. Adelbern could not risk travelling through the Northen Shiverpeaks, he had to get to Droknar's Forge where King Jalis now resides. The only way for Adelbern to get to the Forge was by travelling South of Ascalon, in to the Amnoon Oasis in the Crystal Desert. The Journey from Ascalon to the Oasis would take days, weeks even, but this will not deter Adelbern, his revenge would be ever sweeter after this.
With a small group of Guards, Adelbern set out for Amnoon at dawn, trying to keep out the public eye, he did not want any information on what he was doing to be leaked to the Ascalonian public, on the small chance that there was a spy there.
The king encountered little trouble in Old Ascalon and Regent Valley, but when he and his guards reached Pockmart Flatts, he noticed a large Charr patrol guarding the road towards serenity temple. Adelbern had not fought anything let alone the Charr, since the searing, but he had to get through, he and his immeadiatly charged at them, taking the Charr by surprise.
Adelbern and his men fought with bravery, but there were too many Charr for them to handle. With almost his entire group wiped out Adelbern; Adelbern grew tired, he saw one of the Charr of them charge at him and could not react quickly enough, the Charr drove his blade in to Adelbern with great force. Adelbern quickly lost all of his strength, everything started to turn dark, with his last ounce of strength Adelbern said to himself
“I’m sorry Rurik, I’ve failed you”
Adelbern slowly closed his eyes; all he could see was shadowy figures in the horizon.
