Now, my ten poems are finished, I can finally continue my little story about Glint.
If you haven't read the other four chapters, I suggest you read them first: 1, 2, 3, and 4
Part 5: The Temple of the Gods
After her little happy dance, Glint decided to get moving. With a wave of her claws, she summoned a cloud, and with her glare she molded it into an orb of air. She swallowed it whole and immediately she felt the strength in her legs growing. Her windborne speed spell had again did it’s job.
With an enormous speed she ran to the temple, she came closer, and closer, and closer, until the distance between her and the temple was only a couple of yards anymore. She stopped, and looked at the temple, admiring the statues of all the gods. She saw Balthazar, with a giant battle sword made of silver and steel. His eyes glowed like fire, it looked like he could come to life any moment.
Left of Balthazar she saw a statue of Lyssa, it was very confusing to look at it, as the purple matter of the first part of the twin goddess flew over into the deep blue of the other part of the twin. It was impossible to say where the first stopped and the second started. Lyssa eyes were also purple, very vivid, and it again looked like Lyssa could come to life any moment.
And right of Balthazar stood Grenth, it was a scary statue. The clothing was made of gray stone, icy colored sapphires and green moss. His eyes were yellow pits, without pupil. In his hands he wielded a scythe, that looked so sharp as it was used yesterday.
Glint couldn’t see the other statues of the gods, she guessed they were at the other site of the building. She started walking again and just before the temple, she heard a growling voice saying: “DO NOT ENTER! YOU ARE NOT WORTHY!”
Glint looked startled around her, but saw no one. She set another step, and suddenly she got hit by a ray of purple energy. She couldn’t move anymore, and she felt very weak. Her energy was draining away and her head was spinning. She fell to the ground. When her head hit the ground, she saw Lyssa’s statue coming from it’s pedestal. “Oh crap, hit by a mesmer hex from the goddess of mesmers.”, she thought. But she didn’t give up, she turned her head around and ate some sand. Then she began speaking words she had never pronounced before, and she suddenly felt the hex felling off her. She felt her strength coming back, and she experienced a new wisdom: she had used her first form of crystal magic!
She felt her health regenerating, as her crystal hibernation stayed with her.
“This will teach you a lesson!”, she shouted, and she shot a fireball at the statue of Lyssa. The devastating fireball made way to the goddess, but suddenly froze, and fell to the ground. Glint looked to the right, and saw that Grenth had come to live too. He smiled and evil grin, and waved with his scythe.
The ground under Glint begun to shake, and suddenly 6 enormous fleshy bone creatures emerged from the ground. It were flesh golems, and they were ready to kill. “Attag my minionsggg”, Grenth grasped.
The golems started hacking at Glint, and their slashes hit Glint heavily. Quickly she was bleeding out of all places, and breathing heavily. She summoned infernos and flame bursts, whirlwinds and earthquakes but nothing seemed to stop the golems, they just kept hacking. Glint was at the end of her powers, and she raised her head in a scream, looking to the sky. She saw the sun, and she saw a little sunray shining at her. That sunray gave her hope, and out of a power she never experienced before, she molded the sunray and the sand around her into crystals, that fused with her skin. She felt strong, very strong, but the golems didn’t stop. They kept on hitting her, but now she had a different skin, a jagged crystal skin. The golems soon started losing parts, as the razor sharp crystal cut off their limbs, and after a couple of seconds they were no more.
Glint felt the crystal sensation flowing trough her bloodstream, and she roared. “I’m going to beat you two, even if it is the last thing I do!” “Make that three, young lady!”, the statue of Balthazar growled. The next moment an enormous fire enveloped Glint, and she felt the heat and the pain…
Can Glint win?
