My first Guild Wars fan fiction. ^^ These are some stories I mad up a while ago when I was bored, after beating Factions. Just a little made up background history to the Mad King. I wrote a second a while after my first, so instead of posting two I've included both parts.
Enjoy! :)

Scripts of the Mad King
Part I
The Mad King was 14 years old when his father and mother were killed in a great inferno that stretched all across the Southern Kingdom of Orr. Many people thought it to be the work of displeased gods. Others thought it to be the work of a cruel guild or Elementalist. But it was neither. The Mad King, who was at the time known as the Wayward Wizard, caused this inferno.
The Wayward Wizard was a tall man, standing at 7 feet and 2 inches. He was the tallest man in Orr, even to this day. He wore a Pumpkin mask over his head at all times, concealing his face from all who looked upon him. He would use what he called “Punishment” on any who he did not like or even looked at him slightly funny. This spell would burn you with incredible pain that no human could imagine.
He did not kill his parents on purpose. It was a complete accident, which caused him great emotional pain and suffering. He pledged his Soul to the Lord of the Death and the Underworld, Grenth, who gave him unearthly powers to control Life and Death as well as the Undead.
It was then that the Mad King betrayed Grenth, locking him inside a great Globe. The Mad King took control over the Underworld and sent Undead to kill all who did not join him. But the power of the gods would not have that. Balthazar, Dwayna, Melandru, and Lyssa took control of all the Mad King’s powers and locked him in the same Globe he had locked Grenth in.
The Mad King was locked in that horrible Globe for thousands of years, and because the gods made him Undead, he had to suffer all those years.
About 200 years later, a foolish young Necromancer called him from the Underworld, dooming himself and many others. But the thousands of years the Mad King spent in that Globe took most of his power away. He could not summon any Undead, use the Elements, or control Life or Death. All his power was lost, and all he could do was serve his master in the ways he commanded.
But the one thing the Necromancer did to change this, was give the Mad King a spec of power. Once he got a even a spec of it back, all the power he once had was returned to him, and he killed the Necromancer on the spot. The Mad King then went on to murder the whole town and sucked the power from them. He now grew very powerful and was again able to control all he had previously.
But once again, the gods were too powerful for the Mad King to resist. They took away his power and instead of locking him away, turned him completely human. He was exhausted for the rest of his natural life, and did not live a happy one. He died 10 years later, but with an unknown cause.
100 or so years after his mortal death, the Mad King returned again. This time, not as powerful and much kinder. He made his own holiday, to apologize to the people of Tyira, in which he comes from the Underworld with his many servants, and gives out sweet food and candies. Pumpkin masks, like the one he wore in life are also given to any who follow a few simple commands.
Some think he’s just planning a way to get revenge on all who trapped him. Some say he’s really, truly changed.
Tyria will find out soon enough…
Part II
It was a cold, dark October night in Lion’s Arch. People were gathered around the Giant Pumpkin, to begin the celebrations of Halloween. The fires were lit, the parties were cheerful, and the people were happy. The Summons was about to begin…
When the Summoner started, the ground began to shudder, the wind began to howl, and fire shot out of the eyes and mouth of the Giant Pumpkin. People thought the Mad King was just making a good entrance, but oh how they were wrong…
For a good 10 minutes the activity around the Giant Pumpkin went on. And finally, he came. In a huge flash of light, he appeared, different than he always did…as if with more power.
People were very surprised, for he had not appeared in this manner in all the years. He was darker, it seemed, that he had been in the past. His Wayward Wand was glowing with newfound power, and he looked very unhappy.
At last he spoke but a single word. He said, “bow.” The townspeople bowed, thinking he was starting the Pumpkin Hat celebration. He then turned half the townspeople into Undead. People ran screaming, but most were killed instantly but the Mad King’s Punishment.
By this time, half the city was already Undead, and they were killing each other. The Mad King sent them to destroy the rest of the city and the outlying towns.
Nobody knew why the Mad King had done this. He had always been peaceful when the time came for Halloween. But the people soon learned the truth. He had been planning this for all the years he had been he had been celebrating. He would get revenge some day…and that day was here.
But the problem only gets worse. Because of the recent openings in supply lines from Cantha to Tyria, there were many ships in the Lion’s Arch Harbor. The Mad King had had enough of Kryta and it’s jungles, so he set off to Cantha on a ship manned by his Undead Servants.
When he reached Cantha 8 days later, nobody had any idea of who he was or why he had come. Halloween was not celebrated in Cantha, so they had not heard the legends surrounding the Mad King.
The Mad King took advantage of this, and gained trust in many wealthy people. Though many people wondered why he looked the way he did, they never asked questions, and he never told them exactly who he was. He became a rich merchant, and started to plot his next move.
If not for Devona, Mhenlo, Aidan, and Cynn, he would have maybe posed as a human for the rest of his days and maybe attempted to rule Cantha. But they had come from Tyria to warn the Canthan people of the Mad King’s presence. The Tyrians didn’t know where the Mad King went, when he stole a ship, so they never suspected him going to Cantha. They had given up trying to find him. It had been 15 years since that October night.
When Devona and the others learned of the Mad Kings home, they went right to it, and prepared to kill him and send him to the Underworld once and for all.
When they arrived at the Mad King’s estate, they saw that he was ready for them, though they couldn’t figure out how he knew they were coming. Aidan poisoned his arrows, Mhenlo cast protection prayers, Devona sharpened her swords, and Cynn lit her fires.
Devona charged. Aidan covered her by firing arrows. Cynn threw Fire Balls left and right, hitting their targets every time. Mhenlo healed them all as they fought.
They fought for an hour or two before Cynn was killed. The Mad King sucked the life from her body and used it to make Undead. Aidan, Mhenlo, and Devona were stunned. One of their friends had just been killed…one of the friends who had crossed all of Tyria with them, fighting the Lich and saved them many times before.
Devona was in rage now. She ran faster than she had ever run before, right for the Mad King. She cut open his arm and his leg. The Mad King stumbled over and fell to the ground. Devona was about to decapitate him, when a small Imp came from the Mad King’s hands and broke her sword. She used the broken blade to kill the Imp, but it wasn’t good enough to kill the Mad King. He hit her in the face with a large bolder, breaking her neck, and killing her instantly.
Finally, Mhenlo and Aidan killed the Mad King, using their combined power. They buried their friends back in Ascalon, their home nation, and honored them for the rest of their lives.
The Mad King was dead, never again to return to the lands of Cantha or Tyria…
