Part 6: Fighting the Gods
“Aaagh!” Glint shouted and roared, cried and screamed, but nothing helped.
Balthazar’s divine flames kept burning her, and she felt her life power drain away from her like water.
“Water?”, Glint thought. “Of course water!!!!”
She let her spirit search for water, and found a little underground lake, just five feet below her.
She gathered her last bits of strength, and drained the water to the surface, where she molded it into an armor of mist. But this armor felt strange, cold.
It wasn’t an armor of mist, it was a frigid armor!
She felt the flames backing away, and her burning skin extinguish. The divine flames were gone!
“Ok, now it’s between us, you bastards!”
Glint tried to fire a fireball to Lyssa, but her crystal powers seemed to flow again, and instead of a fireball, a strange rainbow colored ray hit Lyssa.
Lyssa growled and was knocked down, surprised by the power of the Crystal Orb.
Encouraged by her successful blow, Glint jumped towards the two other gods. She swung her mighty tail and swept Grenth away with a mighty swing from her jagged crystal tail.
Lyssa was still trying to get up, but she seemed to be disorientated by the crystal orb.
Grenth lay unconscious with his head dropped.
When Balthazar saw this all, he exploded with anger.
He raised his sword to the sky and screamed an incantation. Suddenly the air became dry, the sky became red.
Glint looked up, just in time. A huge meteor flew towards her! She didn’t hesitate, and swung her tail towards the boulder. With an enormous explosion, it shattered in hundreds of pieces. She then looked furiously at the statue of Balthazar. She felt her anger evaporating out of her skin. It changed into some kind of mist, a haze.
That crystal haze flew towards the statue of Balthazar.
When he came into contact with the haze, he dropped his sword and fell backwards. Glint was happy, very happy.
“Take that, so called protectors of the gods!”
“Ow but we’re not done yet, dear Glint, far from…”, a female voice said.
The voice filled the air like the scent of honey.
Glint looked towards the temple, and saw two statues appearing.
The first was a woman, a beautiful woman with a serene expression on her face. It was Dwayna, the mother goddess. Well, it was her statue that had come to life, but nevertheless, she was amazing. The other statue was also…a woman? Or a tree? Glint couldn’t tell, but she knew who it was, it was the statue of Melandru.
Glint was still recovering from the shock of seeing two formidable new opponents, while Melandru already had cast her first spell! The ground around Glint started ripping open, and enormous vines appeared out of the desert sands. In a matter of seconds, Glint was encased, helpless to see how Dwayna helped the other statues regain consciousness. She tried to rip open the vines with her jagged crystal skin, conjured infernos, flame bursts, crystal waves,… the vines stayed where they were.
The five statues stood before Glint, looking at her with anger and hatred. They just wanted to fire all their spells at her when a voice shouted: “Wait!” Out of the temple, another statue appeared.
“You wouldn’t get started without me, would you?” It was Abaddon, the sixth god, the god of water and knowledge.
“Of course not, my friend, join us!”, Balthazar said with his deep, warm voice.
Glint swallowed, how would she withstand this overwhelming force of six statues, representing the six gods??
